She may be on the Oscar trail with her period film Hamnet, but Jessie Buckley stepped into a new fashion era as she teased the release of her next dark and vampy film.
Fans of movies and fashion have gotten somewhat used to a degree of 'method dressing' on the red carpet, whether it's Margot Robbie going full Barbie in shiny pink mini dresses, or Zendaya wearing tennis ball-inspired looks while promoting Challengers.
And it looks like Buckley is starting strong while promoting her newest film The Bride!, stepping out for a photo call wearing a punky that feels like a move away from her polished looks while promoting Hamnet.

Styled as always by Danielle Goldberg, the Kerry native took part in a press event in London to promote the new film, which is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and co-stars Christian Bale and Penélope Cruz.
Buckley's starring role as the Bride of Frankenstein sees her step into sultry 1930s-inspired looks, and she's clearly taken some cues from the costumes for her latest look.
Buckley wore a dress from Diotima's fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection, which featured a black, long-sleeved bodice with a chunky collar draped over the shoulders and feather embellishments at the waist, paired with a mermaid-silhouette skirt printed with an abstract design.

Her gothic look was mirrored by Gyllenhaal, who wore a black dress with fringing at the waist, sheer detailing on the arms and a scarf draped at the neck.

Cruz opted for black too, wearing a sculptural midi dress from Jacquemus' fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection, featuring a scoop neckline and tapered fringing on the skirt.
