Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal and more Irish stars wowed onlookers at the 83rd Golden Globes, which took place tonight at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Hosted once again by comedian Nikki Glaser, after a scene-stealing run as the first solo female host at last year's awards ceremony, the Globes are widely seen as the first major awards event of the year and helps to establish predictions for who will go home with an Oscar at the Academy Awards on 15 March.
One Battle After Another, Adolescence and Marty Supreme are among the films and shows that are expected to collect some awards, but for Irish fans, all eyes were on Hamnet's Irish stars Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, with Buckley already a frontrunner for an Oscar thanks to her win for Best Actress at last week's Critics' Choice Awards.

Renowned for its red carpet, fashion was even more front and centre for this year's Globes, with a Met Gala-inspired staircase incorporated into the carpet.
It was an invitation to show off that our own Maura Higgins gladly accepted, arriving early in the evening in a showstopping black off-the-shoulder column gown and trailing gold cape from Marmar Halim.
Styled by Maeve Reilly, the Traitors US star paired the Old Hollywood-inspired look with a diamond necklace with a sparkling yellow stone, a short curled bob and understated makeup.
Although he's deep into portraying Paul McCartney in the upcoming Beatles biopic, Hamnet's Paul Mescal channelled dapper suiting in his Golden Globes look.

He took to the red carpet in a sharp black tuxedo by Gucci, paired with a white shirt with the collar playfully turned up. He finished his look with black dress shoes.

His co-star Jessie Buckley, meanwhile, stunned in a baby blue one-shouldered gown by Dior featuring a floral motif and an asymmetric hem. The star was styled by Danielle Goldberg, who paired the gown with matching baby blue stiletto heels.

Northern Irish author Maggie O'Farrell, who wrote Hamnet, also walked the red carpet, wearing a cream dress featuring blue and black floral embroidery and chunky black boots.
