Beyoncé is set to make a dazzling return to the famed Met Gala steps, ten years after her last appearance at the event, as she is named one of the co-chairs for the 2026 Met Gala.
The Cowboy Carter star will step into the role alongside actor Nicole Kidman and tennis star Venus Williams, who will join Anna Wintour as co-chairs for the gala.
Kidman and Venus are both seasoned Met Gala attendees, having attended the last two galas in a row and numerous others in the past and wowing reporters, fans and onlookers with their outfits.
However, Beyoncé - despite once being a fixture at the famed event - hasn't attended since 2016, with her last one being the "Manus x Machina" gala during which she wore a striking nude gown by Givenchy Haute Couture, which makes her return as a co-chair even more exciting.
As well as this, the organisation has announced the first few figures on its Host Committee, with Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz co-chairing it, with additional members including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A'ja Wilson, and Yseult.
More members will be announced in the run up to the event.
The next Costume Institute exhibition will be titled "Costume Art", and will celebrate the close relationship between fashion and fine art.
Opening to the public on 10 May 2026 and running until 10 January 2027, the exhibition will draw parallels between the two worlds of art and fashion by showcasing almost 200 artworks and pairing them with around 200 garments and accessories.
Although the Met Gala itself - which takes place on 4 May 2026 - will have its own dress code, which is yet to be announced, the exhibition theme will inform the dress code and no doubt serve as inspiration for the A-list guests set to walk the iconic steps of the Met.
