Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley attended a screening of their new film, Hamnet, during the 69th BFI London Film Festival at The Royal Festival Hall on 11 October, 2025.

Styled, as always, by celebrity stylist Felicity Kay, Paul Mescal wore an all-black ensemble on the red carpet.

The Maynooth man was spotted head to toe in Gucci, wearing a monochrome suit - high-waisted black trousers and an open black shirt - paired with a black leather jacket featuring a small silver safety pin, and a pair of exceptionally shiny shoes.

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Jessie Buckley dazzled in a Roksanda gown, which came from the Spring/Summer 2026 ready-to-wear collection.

The strapless number fell into structured tiers of faux feathers in red, black, and white, making the Kerry woman a stand-out at the event.

The Irish actors looked in great spirits as they celebrated the London premiere of their new film, Hamnet, a historical drama co-written and directed by Chloé Zhao.

Based on Maggie O'Farrell's 2020 novel of the same name, the story follows William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, as they celebrate the birth of their son, Hamnet. However, when tragedy strikes and his child dies at a young age, it inspires Shakespeare to write his timeless masterpiece, Hamlet.

Hamnet will hit Irish screens on Friday, 9 January, 2026.
