Arnotts held a preview of the key trends of Autumn/Winter 2025 earlier this morning, showcasing the colour, textures and styles that are sure to be popular as the weather chills.

With brands like Ganni, Annie Bing, Barbour, Sister Jane, and Essentiel Antwerp featured, the autumnal showcase was a feast for the eyes - complete with a giant pumpkin on the catwalk.

TV stylist Irene O'Brien, who recently worked with the judges on the latest season of Dancing with the Stars, broke down some of the key trends that she spotted on the runway.

"There's such a mix of textures and colours, which I always love," she told RTÉ Lifestyle. "When we think of autumnal clothes, we think of our tweeds and our browns, and they were all in existence, but they were so much more playful, I feel."

"There's orange cord, but you're mixing it with blue, softer fabrics," she adds. "I liked the way things draped. I have to say, 'fun' is what came to mind. It was obviously incredibly stylish, the styling was beautiful, but I think that elevating for autumn/winter is how we get through autumn/winter!"

Layering different colours and textures, and finding fun ways to drape some oversized pieces, will be key to the season, which Irene says is ideal for sustainability.

"It made me think that there are loads of things in my wardrobe that I could mix with these new pieces, it's already sparking ideas," she explains. "That's a testament to the styling today."

With embellished jeans, metallic dresses, sparkling shoes, and glittering coats, there was a magical element to this season's picks.

"Some of those beautiful, embellished jeans - they will be mine," she laughs. "Because they have a beautiful structure, they're beautifully made, and because they're so playful, you already know how you can wear it in five different ways, which is exactly what you want."

According to the stylist, the ultimate investment for Autumn/Winter is, unsurprisingly, a good coat.

"You coats, your shoes or boots, your sunglasses, and your handbag - those are the things that you're reaching for all the time," she says. "With coats, you should consider them, invest in them, and feel good in them, and they will take you everywhere."
