It's back to school season, and even Paul Mescal couldn't resist channeling some of that old school preppy style at his most recent film premiere.

The Maynooth native has been busy promoting two new projects, Hamnet with Jesse Buckly and The History of Sound with Josh O'Connor, jet-setting between Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and New York City, where he recently appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Such a packed scheduled meant one thing: a slew of stylish red carpet looks. Almost as renowned for his style choices as for his acting chops, Mescal consistently garners praise for his outfits, which often blend modern designs with retro details.

Styled as always by Felicity Kay, Mescal stepped out in New York City for the premiere of The History of Sound wearing a dapper ensemble from Gucci.

He paired a classic blue and white striped shirt, which was rolled at the sleeves, with a black and gold patterned tie, which was elegantly held in place by a gold tie pin.

He finished his look with simple black slim trousers and a pair of classic Gucci black leather loafers.
