Taylor Swift has officially entered her bridal era.

The Love Story singer announced her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce in a joint post on Instagram, captioned: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

After two years of dating, the couple shared the exciting news through a series of beautiful photos of the two posing in Travis's flower-filled garden of dreams.

Swift wore a black-and-white striped Ralph Lauren halter dress for the memorable occasion, paired with brown Louis Vuitton sandals, and a gold Cartier Santos Demoiselle Quartz watch with a diamond-encrusted face.

The most eye-catching piece of the fairytale scene, though, was undoubtedly the ring.

According to Vogue, Kelce worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the jaw-dropping piece, with Forbes describing the ring as an eight-carat 'Old Mine Brilliant Cut' diamond set on a gold band.

Old mine cuts are cushion cuts that are usually antique and likely cut by hand, meaning that each one has its own unique charm. Additionally, jeweler Artifex Fine is known for making hand-engraved pieces, making this especially one of a kind.

Benjamin Khordipour of Estate Diamond Jewelry told Brides that the ring is "definitely a throwback to the Victorian Era, with the beautiful, delicate and decorative gold work".

"The ring was handcrafted in 18k yellow gold, and the center diamond is set with needle point prongs that perfectly match the antique style. Smaller diamonds and hand-engravings adorn the shoulders of her setting," he continued, noting that he estimated the price of the ring to be $550,000.

While the exact details are yet to be confirmed, it's clear that Swift has been bejeweled.

Appearing on Channel Nine's The Today Show on 27 August, Travis Kelce's father, Ed Kelce, revealed that the engagement happened weeks ago.

The 74-year-old praised the singer as a "beautiful young lady" and said that the couple "complement each other so well".

Eagle-eyed Swifties have speculated that the engagement happened after the singer's appearance on Kelce's podcast, New Heights, where she announced the release of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is said to detail her life behind the scenes.

They believe the engagement happened soon after the viral podcast episode was recorded because her hair looked slightly indented by the headphones she wore on the show. Clearly, years of searching for hidden messages in Swift's creations have left the fandom with serious sleuthing skills.

All of this is to say: It's a love story, and Taylor said yes!
