Singer, songwriter, and all-around fashion icon CMAT (aka Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson) recently attended a photocall for the 2024 Mercury Music Prize 'Album of the Year' at The Langham Hotel in London, England.

The Dublin woman is among the nominees competing to win the 2024 Mercury Prize album of the year award thanks to the success of her critically acclaimed 2023 release Crazymad, For Me.

Jokingly describing her look as "Cynthia from the Rugrats on about one hours sleep", the singer wore her hair in a fanned-out up-do while dazzling in a sequin dress from Joanne Hynes Studio, the creative studio of the Irish artist and designer.

Known for her eclectic and bold creations, Hynes pulled this glittering piece from her 2011 archive. Sharing photos of the dress to Instagram, the Galway designer was full of praise for the singer, writing:

"So proud of you Ciara!!!! @cmatbaby 💚 This is a reminder of when things make sense, a reminder to all creatives of why we do the things, and make the things we do.This dress has been waiting in my archive for you @cmatbaby thank you 💚"

It seems that Hynes was the perfect pairing for CMAT, who has previously made headlines thanks to her daring style, jumping from a Vivienne Westwood and purse shoes at the Ivor Novello Awards, to a dress with a super low-cut back and feathers at the Brit Awards.

Last night's look saw the singer shine in a dress made from shimmering green discs and bejewelled circular embellishments across the breasts.

She paired the look with pearl earrings, jewel-toned tooth gems, and a pair of sparkling silver heels.
