Roz Purcell on why her upcoming wedding won't be this year

When Roz Purcell walked the red carpet at last night's VIP Style Awards, wearing a fluorescent pink strapless gown with a matching shawl by Solace London, she couldn't have looked more put together. In reality, she told RTE Lifestyle, her look was part of a last minute change of plan.

"Originally I had got another dress, a baby blue dress, and then I was helping my good friend Emma Power from 2fm, my co-host, and I saw this online, while I was helping her shop, and I went, 'Oh, my god, I need to get this dress instead!'

"There was no inspiration, it was purely an impulse buy", she continued. "And you know what? I think I'm so used to just like, hiking and being in the outdoors, I really wanted to go glam and this is so glam. No one's going to miss me tonight!"

Paired with a slicked back bun inspired by Bella Hadid, a glowing makeup look and shimmering earrings by & Other Stories, her look was truly shopstopping. Ever the realist, however, Purcell assured us that she "had no inspiration, I just went with the flow".

Going with the flow seems to be where the presenter and writer is comfortable these days, as she's firmly keeping her plans for her upcoming wedding nice and loose - for now.

"I'm excited but I've done no planning, whatsoever. Nothing!" she laughs. "The only that I've decided is, it's not going to be this year because everywhere is booked out. I think the biggest issue is trying to find where we want to get married. We have an idea of what we want, but we haven't really started looking at locations yet."

As for what she's discovered about the realities of wedding planning in recent months, the former model is deadpan: "It's expensive. That's kind of the biggest thing."

"And I think I've been brought up to be very conscious of like, if you make money, hold onto it in a way, so I'm a bit like, 'Oh, my god!' We haven't really started planning too much yet, so we haven't learned anything just yet."

When asked if she was someone who pictured her future wedding, she said, "Never. Absolutely no."

"I think, because of modeling, I have tried so many wedding dresses on that I'm kind of bored of it. It's not exciting to me. So I think if anything, I'll be going for a really nice, simple gown and just have my hair slicked back in a bun like this and be kind of comfortable, if anything."

Of course, if her snap decision to change dresses for the VIP Style Awards is anything to go by, anything could change. "This is the thing, I'm very indecisive so I'll be chopping and changing my mind", she says, laughing.
