Derry-born designer Jonathan Anderson has been named among the world's most influential people on the annual TIME 100 list for 2024.

Anderson is the Creative Director for Spanish fashion house, Loewe, as well as his own line, JW Anderson.

He has made fashion headlines in recent years thanks to his boundary pushing collections and iconic designs for celebrities such as Rihanna, Beyoncé and most recently Zendaya, who kicked off her promotional tour for her latest film, tennis drama Challengers, in a tennis-inspired pale green gown.

Luca Guadagnino, the director behind Challengers, for which Anderson designed the costumes, wrote the dedication, highlighting Anderson's intelligence, humour, empathy and "innate understanding of how fashion and human behavior intertwine".

Writing about their collaboration in cinema, Guadagnino said: "Costume design in particular takes a great deal of humanity and wisdom, and working with him in the past has helped me better understand the characters whose stories we were telling.

"His work is always ahead of the curve."

Dua Lipa, Sophia Coppola, Joy Da'Vine Randolph, Kylie Minogue, Jack Antonoff and Yulia Navalnaya - the widow of Russian dissenter Alexei Navalny - are among the names included on the prestigious list.

Anderson took to Instagram to celebrate his TIME100 placement, with the caption: "Thank you @TIME for this incredible honour. Massive thank you to Luca for your kind words."
