Irish stars CMAT and Jazzy made bold statements on the Brit Awards 2024 red carpet, as they flew the flag for Irish talent at the prestigious music awards.

Launched in 1977, the BRIT Awards are an annual showcase of the UK's biggest success stories as well as a platform used to promote a diverse pool of up-and-coming talent.

Dubliner CMAT was nominated for international artist of the year, facing off against Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Kylie Minogue, SZA, Caroline Polachek, and Nigerian singers Asake and Burna Boy.

She walked the red carpet in a glamorous and cheeky ensemble styled by Mia Maxwell, wearing a black satin dress by designer Sophie Lincoln that featured a high neckline, puff shoulders and a super low-cut back trimmed with black feathers.

She paired that with a kitsch, dark red handbag by Bimba Y Lola in the shape of a rose, black flat shoes and black gloves. She added some sparkle with similarly unusual accessories, such as prawn-shaped silver hair barrettes by Shrimps and statement jewellery by 33mm and Eve Wilson Jewellery.

Her makeup look was 60s-inspired, with a wash of pastel blue eyeshadow, graphic black eyeliner and a cotton candy pink lipstick.

Jazzy, meanwhile, was up against Billie Eilish, Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo, among others, in the international song of the year category.

She wore a Noughties-inspired denim two-piece, pairing wide-legged jeans with a long-sleeved, full length denim jacket featuring distressed patches and lace-up detail. Her hair was styled into long plaits, while her makeup was similarly 90s-inspired, with a dark blue eyeshadow and lined lipstick.

Laura Whitmore was on hosting duty and looked typically glamorous, styled as always by Emma Lane. The presenter and DJ stepped out in a gown by Azzi & Osta, which featured a one-shouldered, asymmetric neckline, accented with an oversized bow dotted with shimmering cirlces.

She wore her blonde tresses pulled back into a high ponytail, while her makeup was fresh and glowy, with a pale blue eyeshadow and a nude lip.

Also turning heads on the night was Kylie Minogue, who wore a flirty black mini dress that featured a bustier top and contrasting ruffled skirt. She paired it with black sheer tights and black heels, accented with a crystal embellished ankle strap.

Dua Lipa also stuck to black, wearing a leather-look gown custom made by Versace, featuring a deep V-neckline and a cinched in waist.

American singer and songwriter Caroline Polachek represented Irish design, wearing a jaw-dropping gown from Simone Rocha's recent collection for Jean Paul Gaultier. The striking piece featured an exaggerated upturned bust, a corsetted waist and sides that laced together with champagne-hued ribbons.
