See the Irish designs competing in the Junk Kouture World Final

Junk Kouture is an eco-conscious fashion competition that allows post-primary school students from across the country to design, create, and model jaw-dropping creations - all made from recycled items.

The Junk Kouture World Final 2023 will take place in just over a week’s time in Monaco on 22 February. The Irish team has 10 designs ready to fly the flag for Ireland on the world stage in Salle des Princes in Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum.

Nine of the competitors were chosen by judges Louis Wash, Keilidh Cashell, Tara Kumar and Stephen McLaughlin, while the Wildcard competitor was made by RTÉ Lifestyle's Sínann Fetherston.

This spectacular live event will showcase 60 finalists from around the globe unveiling their ingenious, eco-friendly couture creations in a dazzling and high-energy showcase. You can get more details on the Irish entries here.

The Wearable Art Award at the 2023 World Final will celebrates the designer(s) who create a true feast for the eyes – think costumes on movie sets, elaborate red carpet designs and the incorporation of incredible props!

As for 2024, Junk Kouture has joined forces with EUROSPAR once again to bring sustainable style into the heart of Irish communities.

The regional finals will take place in Dublin's Helix on 4-5 March, followed by the Dublin City Final in May.
