Paul Mescal can add fashion model to his CV, as the actor becomes the latest star to front a campaign by Gucci.

In addition to being an Oscar-nominated actor, the Kildare native is also a brand ambassador for Gucci and have been unveiled as the newest face of an iconic Gucci accessory.

Mescal fronts a glamorous campaign celebrating the brand's iconic Horsebit loafers, which are marking their 70th anniversary. The campaign is one of the first by Sabato De Sarno, Gucci's new creative director, who took up the mantle from Alessandro Michele earlier this year.

Mescal has often been spotted wearing the brand's pieces, from the retro-inspired tailored suits in bold colours that marked Michele's reign, to the pared back designs by De Sarno.

Indeed, one of Mescal's most iconic fashion moments - when he paired GAA shorts with an oversized Adidas jacket - may have led to the Italian fashion house launching their own style of short-shorts, after Mescal's look caused a frenzy online.

The short-shorts are back in the latest campaign, with Mescal pairing them and other pieces with the classic loafers. In one image, he reclines on a chair wearing tan loafers, pale blue shorts, a white vest and a long trench coat.

In another, the Normal People actor wears a cropped white t-shirt with black slack and black shoes, while the final shot features Mescal in wide, raw-edged jeans, a blue shirt and a navy blazer.
