Paul Mescal has proven that you don't need a suit and tie to look well-dressed, as his latest appearance gives a masterclass in nailing your wardrobe staples.
He's become known for a more expressive sense of style, from the iconic Adidas jacket and GAA shorts combination that had fans riveted, to his retro-inspired red carpet looks in the lead up to the Oscars earlier this year, which saw him wear everything from leather blazers to pale blue tuxedos.

However, with his latest look, Mescal went back to basics in a pared back, but nonetheless striking, outfit.
The Normal People star attended the launch of the Gucci Cosmos London exhibition, wearing elevated staple pieces from the brand.
Held in London's 180 The Strand, the exhibition displays archival designs from the brand alongside experiential sections, highlighting how each creative director has interpreted the brand's ethos. It was curated by Italian fashion theorist and critic Maria Luisa Frisa, and designed by British artist Es Devlin.
The exhibition features designs from Tom Ford, Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele, as well as from new creative director Sabato De Sarno, who presented his first collection for the brand at last month's Milan Fashion Week.

De Sarno's collection was notable for its clean tailoring, muted colour palette with pops of rich shades and 60's-inspired silhouettes, all far more understated than Michele's electic styles.
Mescal showcased this sophisticated take last night, wearing a classic white tee, blue jeans and a pair of black loafers.
As anyone who recently watched The Bear series and oogled over Jeremy Allan White's perfect white t-shirt, the key to Mescal's look was all in the details. Instead of being tucked into the jeans, the tee was cropped close to his waist line, with a slight curve to the hem. The sleeves were rolled back and the neckline was high and tight.
The jeans, meanwhile, were cropped and styled with a seam down each leg, elevating them further.

Fellow Irish actor Daryl McCormack also made an appearance at the exhibition, wearing a grey bowling shirt, white vest and cream trousers with black loafers and matching gray socks.

Activist and writer Sinéad Burke attended, wearing a stunning white two-piece featuring a long pleated skirt and matching single breasted jacket, cinched at the waist with a belt accented with a heavy gold buckle.

Ronan Keating stepped out with his wife Storm, who wore a black and white checkerboard pussy bow blouse and a pleated skirt with a motif of antique jewellery. Ronan, meanwhile, wore a burgundy poloneck jumper, a long dark coat and jeans.
Salma Hayek, Damon Albarn and Daisy Edgar Jones attended the glamorous event, all wearing designs by the brand.
