Kate Middleton embraced transitional fashion during her latest public engagement, by stepping out in a monochrome knitted two-piece while visiting Nottingham Trent University.

The Princess of Wales was visiting the university as part of a series of events for World Mental Health Day, and today she spoke about the importance of youth mental health.

Speaking to students at the university, Kate recalled how much she enjoyed her own time studying at St. Andrews, saying that "University, for me, was when I learnt to try out because there's so much on offer", adding, "I'd love to be a student again!"

Kate made the most of sweater weather, wearing an understated and sophisticated knitted cream two-piece from French brand Sezane.

She wore the Sami jumper, which features a high round neckline, an elasticated hem that cinches slightly at the waist and long sleeves accented with tortoise shell-coloured buttons.

She paired this with the matching knitted midi skirt, which features an elasticated waist and a subtly fluted silhouette.

She accessorised her look with tonal details, such as the Mini Holly Bag from Tusting in a soft khaki shade, and the pointed stiletto heels in a camel-hued suede.

She added some sparkle with a pair of statement earrings, which featured a curved hoop design in gold and a dangling pearl on each one. Aside from her blue sapphire engagement ring, she kept her accessories very minimal.

Kate has been switching up her ususal looks recently, moving away from mismatched separates and understated dresses and opting instead for striking pantsuits, co-ords and even a trendy sweater vest, the 'it' piece of the season, recently.
