Pamela Anderson says she's "not into the makeup look right now", as her bare-faced appearance during Paris Fashion Week continues to draw praise from fans and fellow stars.

The actress and activist drew praise for her choice to ditch the makeup while attending a number of high-profile catwalk shows during Paris Fashion Week.

One of the many voices celebrating Anderson's choice was fellow actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who posted on Instagram saying she was "so impressed and floored by this act of courage and rebellion".

The Baywatch star sat down with Vogue France after the end of Paris Fashion Week to discuss her decision to go bare-faced, saying, as a woman in the public eye, "it's also your job to be a model of everything, all sorts of choices".

Noting that she doesn't have any "handlers or a glam team", Anderson, with her hair worn loose and dried naturally, walked the crew through her hotel room as she prepped for the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood show.

She also attended the shows for Isabel Marant, Victoria Beckham and The Row.

"My mom always told me at some point in your life you're not going to want to wear makeup on your skin, and she's right. You kind of have to challenge beauty sometimes, you know. If we all chase youth or we're all chasing our idea of what beauty is in fashion magazines and everything, we're only going to be disappointed or maybe a little bit sad."

She added that she currently feels the happiest in her own skin, but said that her plan wasn't to come to the events and cause a stir by wearing no makeup. "Something came over me and I was dressing in these beautiful clothes and I thought, I don't want to compete with the clothes. I'm not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room.

"I feel like it's just freedom. It's like a relief", she said.

As for how she prepped her skin for the event, she used a rose oil she made herself, and a light coat of mascara.

Anderson also travelled with many of her own archival pieces from her wardrobe, but one standout accessory she showed was a pop art-inspired clutch by Irish designer Philip Treacy, featuring the Campbell's soup motif in red and white.
