On this morning's Nine O'Clock Show on RTÉ Radio 1, Brendan Courtney was joined on air by national broadcasting legend, Anne Doyle.
While in studio, Anne discussed her new book, Tales of the Otherworld: A Frightening Collection of Irish Ghost Stories, spoke about her doppelganger run-in, and shared an excellent story about how one viewer's letter led to a long-lasting haircut.
Fans of Doyle will be familiar with her staple blonde fringe, but may be surprised to find out exactly what led to this particular trim.

Speaking with Courtney, Anne recalled a memory from her years of working in the RTÉ newsroom where she got into trouble for "lifting my eyebrow".
"I didn't do it intentionally, it's a habit," she explains, "and some woman wrote in - a very fair and thoughtful letter - which was quite kind about me. She wasn't been hugely critical or anything, but she said that she would really like to draw attention that I was editorialising with my eyebrow," she laughs.
"She had noticed that sometimes when I was dealing with something that quite clearly didn't meet my particular approval, I was inclined to lift the aul eyebrow."
"I had to of try and train myself not to do it, so eventually, ah there is one handy way round this: grow the fringe longer."
