Held in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and hosted by Nicki Minaj, the MTV Video Music Awards 2023 saw some of the biggest names in music walk the pink carpet in the hopes of scooping a famous Moon Man award.
Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez. Doja Cat, Carbi B and Megan Thee Stallion were just some of the stars strutting their stuff on the pink carpet, with many celebs opting for textured black and white gowns or eye-catching silver looks.
Dazzling performances on the night came from Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Shakira, Doja Cat, Sean "Diddy" Combs and more, while a host of stars pulled out their best looks to accept or present awards.
A special tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip hop was also included on the night, featuring Darryl " DMC" McDaniels, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and LL Cool J.
The awards show has often been culture-defining, particularly when it comes to fashion, from Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress to Beyoncé announcing her pregnancy in a sparkling tuxedo jacket.
Arguably the most coveted gong of the night, the video vanguard award, went to Shakira, who was also nominated for four other awards on the night.
