It's one of the most glamorous events in the entertainment industry calendar, and each year the Venice Film Festival offers up plenty of fashion inspiration for the award season ahead.
Now in its 80th year and running from August 30 to September 9, this year's ceremony has been a markedly different one, as it takes place during the ongoing SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) labour strike.
Under the conditions of the strike, union members are forbidden from filming or promoting their past, present and future works. Many of those who have attended the festival have done so only after getting an interim waiver approved, or are there to promote independently made films.

With that in mind, the red carpet is missing many of the stars of its biggest films, including Emma Stone of Poor Things, Michael Fassbender of The Killer and more.
There were still some familiar faces on the red carpet, however, as three Irish ladies strutted their stuff and posed for the cameras.
Beauty writer Triona McCarthy, influencer Sophie Murray and podcaster Terrie McEvoy attended the premiere of Ferrari, as guest of Armani Beauty.
McCarthy brought her statement fashion sense to the red carpet, looking striking in a black column midi dress with black gloves and a voluminous ruffled hot pink cape by Carolina Herrera. She paired this with platform black heels and a glittering heart-shaped handbag.
Her makeup was equally bold, with a graphic hot pink eye look and black eyeliner.

Murray also opted for pink, wearing a pale pink gown featuring a halterneck and tiered ruffles. She paired this with strappy sandals, sparkling gold drop earrings and a pearl-inspired handbag.
Her makeup was bronzed and glowy, with a pearlescent shimmery eyeshadow and nude lips, while her short bob was styled straight and slicked back.
McEvoy went classic with her gown choice, wearing a striking white column dress with dramatic puff sleeves by Solace London. She paired this with nude strappy heels, a nude clutch and statement gold bauble earrings.

Her hair was slicked back into a high bun and her makeup was warm and smokey, with a bold red lip.
Elsewhere at the premiere was star Adam Driver, who looked elegant in a classic black tuxedo, as well as Patrick Dempsey who opted for a dark grey suit.
