Margot Robbie has been hard at work embodying Barbie, from her starring role in the upcoming film directed by Greta Gerwig, to dressing on theme – flouncy pink minidresses and flirty co-ords included.
Now, however, Robbie and her team have ramped up how closely she looks like the iconic doll, by working with a luxury fashion house to create an outfit that gave a direct nod to Barbie herself.
At the latest photo call for the film, which is released next month, held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Robbie posed beside Barbie's classic pink Cadillac wearing a summery deep pink minidress accented with white polka dots styled by Andrew Mukamal.

The dress featured a slim-fitting skirt with cinched in waistline and a flirty halter neck top and was designed by Valentino, the luxury Italian fashion house which has recently become known for its use of vibrant hot pink, and was a nod toward the 2015 'Pink and Fabulous' Barbie doll.
That doll wore a high-necked form-fitting mini dress in contrasting polka dot print, with subtle yellow accents, white heels, a yellow handbag and a yellow pearl bracelet by Assael Pearls.
Proving that her team are nothing if not meticulous when it comes to detail, Robbie echoed these accessories in her outfit, wearing white pointed-toe stiletto heels by Manolo Blahnik, a yellow mini handbag and a pale yellow pearl bracelet almost identical to the one Barbie wore.

A photo of the dress's label even read "Margot x Barbie", cementing the collaboration in fashion history.
Robbie's hair was styled into an elegant and classic blow dry, with her blonde tresses falling in soft waves, while her makeup stuck to the pink theme, with a baby pink blush and nude lipstick pulling the look together.
Elsewhere, Ryan Gosling leaned into his 'Kenergy' ahead of playing the iconic doll and boyfriend of Barbie by wearing a subtle pale pink embroidered cardigan, paired with a white vest and dark trousers.
