Just weeks after announcing her new fashion collective, it looks like Angelina Jolie is slowly stepping into hew new shoes with a high-profile collaboration with a fashion house.
Jolie has revealed that she is working on a womenswear capsule wardrobe with French luxury fashion house Chloé, which will feature styles inspired by the star's famous wardrobe.
The A-list actress and style inspiration announced her new venture in May, promising a platform for spotlighting the creators and makers behind the clothes we wear, with a focus on sustainable reuse of materials.
She appears to have made good on that commitment by enlisting the help of the French brand, which is one of the few luxury brands that have earned B Corp status, which rewards social and environmental performance.
Jolie worked on the colllection with the brand's creative director Gabriela Hearst, which will feature fluid and flowing designs that come from Chloé's network of global creators. Some of the designs will be made from deadstock and lower-impact materials, while others will spotlight the work of artisans from a Fair Trade group.
Writing on Atelier Jolie's Instagram page, Jolie said: "Very few luxury brands are a certified B Corp. It was important to me to work with Chloé, one of the first luxury brands to be a B Corp. It has been a privilege to design with Gabriela Hearst, and I hope all women will feel comfortable and beautiful in this capsule collection."
She also added that her earnings from the project will be invested back into the Atelier, to establish apprenticeships for tailors and artisans.
Speaking about the collaboration, Hearst said that she "believed in it" from the moment she heard about it.
"It is a way to elevate others through the beauty of garment-making and her deep respect for the environment", she added, saying that both the fashion house and Jolie "have high ideals for the betterment of our species. That is the reason why I love both Angelina and Chloe so deeply".
