Wearing a black Rodarte halter dress with flower detailing, Phoebe Bridgers presented Swift with the Innovator Award, saying, "I'm grateful to have grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it," she said. "Or the world (Taylor's Version)."

During her acceptance speech, Swift said that, throughout her career, she has simply tried to make the right decision for her at the time:

"I think the coolest ideas or moves or choices are the new ones, the ones that set a precedent," she said. "I'm very privileged because my fans have backed me up in a lot of the choices I've made, like switching genres or re-recording all of my old music."

Elsewhere on the night, Pink picked up the Icon Award from Kelly Clarkson who praised her for being a "once-in-a-lifetime talent".

While accepting the award, Pink said: "You have watched me do this, this sifting through life's messiness for almost 25 years. Some of you find what I do annoying and some of you find it brave, and I just find it necessary."

The 'Try' singer wore a flowing white trouser suit with a white blazer from Robert Wun on the red carpet before changing into a structured pinstripe Jean Paul Gaultier gown with diamante pocket detailing and a sky-high pair of glittering black heels while posing with her award in the press room.
