Honouring the most spectacular performances on the silver screen since 1929, the Academy Awards are one of the most star-studded and prestigious events on the film industry's calendar.

Tonight, the world's most glamorous stars will swarm the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday to watch the hotly anticipated 95th Academy Awards.

Having enjoyed a spectacular run up to the Oscars, with equally spectacular red carpet appearances, it's no surprise that the Irish nominees saved their best looks for last. With a host of Irish talent nominated for a whopping 14 awards across a range of categories, the Academy Awards were certainly painted green this year.

Kerry Condon, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, looked sensational in a vivid yellow one-shoulder gown by Atelier Versace, featuring a fitted bodice waist and flowing train. She wore her hair long and loosely waved, with a vibrant red lip.

Nominated for Best Actor for his role in Charlotte Wells' Aftersun, Paul Mescal has been dazzling on red carpets during this year's award season, and tonight was no different.

Styled by Felicity Kay, the Kildare native made a statement wearing a white tuxedo jacket and white shirt with flared black trousers by Gucci. He wore a black dickie bow and added a pop of colour with a red rose on his lapel, as well as some sparkle with a circular diamond brooch.

The cast of Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin – which broke the record for most nominations for an Irish production with nine nods – all pulled out the stops on the night. Colin Farrell, nominated for Best Actor, looked suave in an elegant black suit with an Irish flag pin, attending the ceremony with his son Henry in a matching black suit.

Brendan Gleeson, nominated for Best Supporting Actor, also looked dapper in a shimmering brown suit jacket and black trousers, while co-star Barry Keoghan, also up for the same award, continued his streak of bold red carpet looks in a lavender suit with eccentric floral buttons.

Jessie Buckley brought the drama in a vampy semi-sheer black gown by Rodarte, with Victorian-inspired voluminous puff sleeves, black bead embellishments and a high neckline. The glamorous gown stood out even more against her fiery red cropped hair.

Also dazzling on the night were the cast of Colm Bairéad's An Cailín Ciúin (The Quiet Girl), the first Irish-language film to be nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category.

Bairéad wore a classic black tuxedo complete with dickie bow, while his partner and producer Cleona Ní Chrualaoí wore a stunning pale yellow gown accented with silver embellishments.

Tom Berkeley, James Martin, Seamus O'Hara, and Ross White, the team behind An Irish Goodbye, which is nominated in the Best Live Action Short Film category, walked the red carpet together, with Martin looking especially dapper in a leopard print blazer.
