Barry Keoghan, Kerry Condon, Paul Mescal, and Jessie Buckley were just some of the Irish stars in attendance at the 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California, on February 26, 2023.

The SAG Awards are an annual celebration of excellence in movies and TV and are voted on by 122,600 eligible voters within the actors' union SAG-AFTRA.

Awards season has been of particular interest to Irish fans this year, with a slew of nominations rolling in for Irish talent across a whole host of ceremonies including the Producers Guild Awards, BAFTAs, Critics Choice, and Oscars. Happily, the SAG Awards were no different.

Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin scored an incredible five nods, tying it with Everything Everywhere All at Once for most nominations on record. Both movies are up for 'Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture', where they will go up against Babylon, The Fabelmans, and Women Talking.

McDonagh's tragi-comedy also earned SAG nominations for all four of its leading cast members: Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Barry Keoghan, and Kerry Condon.

Oscar-nominee Paul Mescal was on hand for presenting duties wearing a suit by Irish designer Simone Rocha. Standing alongside Euphoria actress Zendaya, the two rising stars handed Jessica Chastain her award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series award for her role in George & Tammy.
