Bad Sisters star Eve Hewson was honoured last night at the US-Ireland Alliance's annual Oscar Wilde Awards with the Wilde Card Award.
Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance, noted that "the Wilde Card has been used to bring attention to rising talent who may not yet be a household name, but who we expect will be".
The first such award was presented in 2010 to a young Saoirse Ronan.

Taking place in its home of Bad Robot, the Santa Monica production company of J.J. Abrams and Katie McGrath, the celebration saw The Banshees of Inisherin star Kerry Condon and Women Talking's Jessie Buckley walk the green carpet.
Additionally, An Cailún Ciúin (The Quiet Girl), the first Irish language film ever nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature, was recognised at the ceremony, with Director Colm Bairéad and producer Cleona Ní Chrualaoí on hand to accept the award for the film.
The annual event is known as a fun and casual affair in the run-up to the hotly anticipated Academy Awards. With a record-breaking number of Irish Oscar nominees flying to LA this year, it's sure to be a night to remember.

To keep the Irish audience happy, caterer Richard Mooney, the Limerick-born owner of Kensington Caterers, served up fish and chips alongside a smattering of homegrown brands such as Taytos, Writers Tears Whiskey, and Guinness, and The Coronas were on hand to perform at the event.
