Irish stars are taking over the red carpet this year, with the latest appearance being Laura Whitmore, Daryl McCormack, and Aisling Bea turning heads at the EE British Academy Film Awards 2023 Vanity Fair Rising Star BAFTAs pre-party in London.
Former Fair City actor Daryl McCormack is up for the EE Rising Star Award thanks to his recent roles in hit shows such as Bad Sisters and Peaky Blinders, as well as his incredible performance opposite Emma Thompson in Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.
His role as Leo Grande has also led the Tipperary man to be nominated for 'Leading Actor', pitting him against Austin Butler (Elvis), Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Bill Nighy (Living), as well as fellow Irishmen Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Paul Mescal (Aftersun).
The 30-year-old, who recently became an Elle cover star, attended the swanky event wearing a black jacket over a mesh white vest and gold cross as well as some simple black shoes and trousers.
Elsewhere on the red carpet, comedian Aisling Bea wore an old dress that she bought from sustainable brand Reformation "pre panny d".
She paired the satin dress with an old pair of Terry de Havilland shoes, and her own gold jewellery which she picked up from Irish brand Chupi, Alighieri Jewellery, and pre-loved jewellers Vestiaire Collective.
Taking to Instagram, the This Way Up star thanked her "angel friend" Brandon G for doing her hair and makeup, while the Kildare woman credited her "kewl nails" to nail artist Abena Robinson.
Bray woman Laura Whitmore was also spotted attending the event, wearing a black Silvia Astor suit that she wore over a simple black bralette.
Styled as always by the talented Emma Lane, the TV presenter paired the look with gold Jimmy Choo shoes to match the gold buttons of the blazer, gold accessories, and a beautiful handbag from Lulu Guinness.
