The Golden Globes returned to the award season circuit tonight, with its first televised in-person ceremony since before the outbreak of Covid-19.

Hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, the 80th Golden Globe Awards are set to honor talent in film and American television, as chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

Widely seen as the first major awards event of the year, the star-studded ceremony will give some of the world's biggest names a chance to set the fashion trends for the year to come.

Last year's ceremony, while in-person, was not televised, which makes this ceremony all the more exciting when it comes to fashion.

It's an even more significant show for Irish cinemaphiles as a host of Irish stars have been nominated for awards, including Colin Farrell, Kerry Condon, Brendan Gleeson, and Barry Keoghan who were all nominated thanks to their roles in Martin McDonagh's The Banshees of Inisherin.

Keoghan was among the earlier arrivals to the red carpet, making a bold statement in a pale blue suit that was notable for its modern silhouette and edgy details. The suit, by Louis Vuitton, featured a slightly cropped jacket that was worn buttoned, while the coordinating blue shirt was tied with a matching bow tie, left loose and angular.

Farrell skipped the red carpet but collected his award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy award for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin wearing a classic black tuxedo.

Brendan Gleeson also skipped the red carpet but was spotted wearing a simple black tux while standing next to Martin McDonagh, Colin Farrell, Kerry Condon, Barry Keoghan, Graham Broadbent, and Peter O'Brien while accepting the award for Best Motion Picture.

Keoghan's co-star Kerry Condon made a glamorous appearance herself, wowing in an off-the-shoulder custom black velvet gown Brandon Maxwell that oozed Old Hollywood elegance.

She paired it with statement diamond and emerald earrings and wore her hair in a chic tousled up-do.

Also walking the red carpet was Domhnall Gleeson, who is nominated in the TV categories for his performance in the psychological thriller series The Patient. He wore a classic black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie.
