Beyoncé cemented her status as a fashion icon at WACO Theater Center's 5th Annual Wearable Art Gala, which took place in California over the weekend.

Held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, the glamorous event was co-founded by her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and stepfather, Richard Lawson, to raise resources to support WACO's artistic and youth mentorship programs.

This year's theme was "Harlem Nights," celebrating fashions from the 1920s to the 1950s.

It has fast become one of the more unexpectedly dazzling events on the celebrity calendar, as stars walk the red carpet in extravagant designs. The event was put on hold for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so its return to the red carpet was especially spectacular.

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Bianca Lawson, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Solange Knowles served as honorary chairs, while Angela Bassett, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Keke Palmer, Mark Bradford, Andra Day and Star Jones were the 2022 honorees.

Beyoncé had jaws dropping with her ensemble, walking the red carpet in a form-fitting custom black Gucci gown, with a mermaid silhouette, silver star embellishments on the bust and pink satin opera gloves. She accessorised with a Dolce & Gabbana black clutch bag, cat-eye sunglasses and dangling Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

Jay-Z stepped out in a classic black velvet tuxedo jacket, with black trousers and a crisp white shirt.

Angela Bassett stayed true to the theme, dazzling in a lime green Georges Hobeika flapper-style gown, featuring rows of sheer panels embellished with green gems, accented with feathered sections. She wore it with a matching feathered chiffon cape and shimmering sandals.

Destiny's Child alum Kelly Rowland also pulled out the stops with her look, stepping out in a voluminous scarlet gown by Monsoori, featuring a fitted plunging neckline and a flowing train.
