Jennifer Lopez has made her claim on having the most fashionable wedding of the year, as she wore not one, not two, but three couture gowns for her extravagant wedding to Ben Affleck.

The singer and actress went all out for her Old Hollywood-inspired wedding in Georgia, dazzling in three custom gowns created by Ralph Lauren.

The couple wed in front of family and friends in their home in Riceboro, Georgia, which is on the Hampton Island preserve outside of historic Savannah, and their ceremony was fittingly romantic and old-world.

Given she's a global superstar with a career spanning decades, it's no surprise Lopez had a clear vision for her wedding, and hired Colin Cowie of Colin Cowie Lifestyle to help her plan the event, Vogue reports.

But first, the gowns. Lopez walked down the aisle in a custom Ralph Lauren Collection gown modelled on the designer's classic turtleneck column dress. Vogue reports that 1,000 handkerchiefs and 500 meters of fabric were cut into ruffles to create the striking gown, which featured a trailing, voluminous ruffled skirt.

This contrasted beautifully with the form-fitting silhouette of the gown, which nipped in at the waist before meeting the ruffled sleeves, which draped from the shoulders to the flounced turtleneck.

The back was covered in sheer mesh, adding a sultry note, and accented with buttons. Adding to the drama was a flowing cathedral-length veil. She accessorised with dramatic pearl-drop earrings with a matching pearl and diamond ring.

Affleck, meanwhile, wore a white tuxedo jacket, black trousers and a black bowtie, while all of their five children wore matching white – all by Ralph Lauren. All the guests also wore white.

After the ceremony, held under a white metal frame decorated with delphiniums, the wedding party continued into the house for drinks before retiring to the barn for dinner.

Lopez included two costume changes in the night, both of which seemed to pay homage to the Old Hollywood theme of the event, as well as her dazzling career as a performer.

One was an opulent gown befitting her showgirl status, with strings of shimmering pearls draped over the dress. Strings of them covered Lopez's shoulders and neck, and were hand-embroidered, along with micro-pleats of silk tulle, pearl embellishments, and Swarovski crystal.

The final look was a modern and simple one, comparatively speaking: a mermaid-silhouetted gown with a Swarovski-crystal-embellishment keyhole neckline and a daring open back, with a white sheer hood that attached to the dress.

Lopez went for a glamorous and sultry makeup look for the day, with a contoured eye look, fluttering lashes, a nude lip and plenty of blush and contour on her cheeks. Her hair was swept up into an elegant slicked back up-do, which let the dazzling outfits do the talking.
