The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Most Stylish competition, in association with The K Club, will kick off later this month, and leading the fashion set will be none other than Doireann Garrihy and Greg O'Shea, who have been named as judges for the glamorous event.
Irish broadcaster, writer and impressionist Doireann, and presenter and Olympian Greg have established themselves as sharp dressers.
So it's a natural fit that they would be turning their discerning eye to the revellers at The Curragh on Saturday June 25th to find the most stylish lady and gent at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, one of the most prestigious races in the international racing calendar.
It won't be all down to them, however, as they'll be joined in the judging stakes by Breeda McLoughlin, wife of Dubai Duty Free's Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Colm McLoughlin.
The theme of the day is "Let's Go Big", which is exactly what Doireann and Greg will be encouraging guests to do. The focus will be on ensembles and millinery, with guests tasked with creating a striking and innovative look for the occasion.
Speaking about the event, Doireann said: "This is the first summer since 2019 where there will be full attendance at The Curragh and no restrictions when it comes to attending the races.
"To celebrate everyone coming together again, we'll be on the lookout for people who have brought their A game to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby on Saturday June 25th – let's go big and really have some fun! Big hat, big dress, big jewellery, big energy. We’ve waited long enough for this. We'd love to see people really go for it on the day."
As for Greg, he was quick to share his own tips for the guests coming down: "Personally, I love to see men and women really own their look. Yes, you can put on a great dress or a dapper suit but going big with energy and confidence can really make someone stand out from the crowd in what they are wearing. That's something we are really looking to find on the day too when on the ground at The Curragh."
