Earlier this year, show producer Will Packer announced that funny women Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes would host the 94th Oscars.

Nominees
This year's nominees are truly an outstanding group of actors, directors, cinematographers, designers, animators, editors, visual effects artists and more.

From Andrew Garfield's stand out performance in Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical drama tick, tick...BOOM! to Jessica Chastain's transformative portrayal of Tammy Faye in Michael Showalter's The Eyes of Tammy Faye, this year's performances had 'Oscar nomination' written all over them from the moment they hit the big screen.

Of course, we're most excited to see the Irish nominees in the spotlight this year. Kerry woman Jessie Buckley is nominated for her role in Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Lost Daughter, while Belfast man Ciarán Hinds is up for his role in Kenneth Brangh's Belfast.

Brangh, a Belfast-born writer-director, has received Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay nominations for the semi-autobiographical family drama, while singer-songwriter Van Morrison has been nominated for 'Best Song' for Down to Joy which appears in the movie.

Red Carpet
The Oscars are the perfect way to wave off awards season, with the most highly anticipated red carpet of the year promising to deliver a feast for the eyes.

The designs are haute couture, the stylists are the best in the business, and the stars are set to impress.

Of course, despite best efforts to stand out, certain trends will inevitably emerge. So far, awards season has delivered stand out menswear and stunning gowns. We can't wait to see what the Academy Awards brings to the table.
