The Stylist Remarkable Women Awards 2022 was overrun with Irish talent, as some of the brightest Irish stars took over the red carpet.
Laura Whitmore, Aisling Bea, Nicola Coughlan and more were among the celebs gathered at The Londoner, in Leicester Square for the annual awards, which honour inspirational leaders from across a range of industries.
Actors, advocates, authors and performers were represented at the glamorous event, which was the first in-person ceremony in two years after the pandemic hit pause on in-person award shows.
Organisers acknowledged the timing of such an event, as The Stylist's editor-in-chief Lisa Smosarski said, "While tonight will be a celebration, we continue to hold a place in our hearts and minds for the people of Ukraine and we are sending our thoughts, strength and collective hopes for peace soon".
Not only were Irish faces strutting their stuff on the red carpet, they were scooping awards as well, as Irish designer Simone Rocha won Designer of the Year. It comes at a successful time for Rocha, who recently unveiled her latest collection to acclaim at last month's London Fashion Week.
She accepted her award in a stunning creation of her own, wearing a black satin pinafore dress with black sequin embellishments, and a pair of pointed toed black patent leather heels with spiky ankle straps.
Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan showed her support for the designer by wearing a breathtaking sea-green tulle gown with voluminous sleeves, a nude tulle petticoat and delicate embroidered swans on the bodice. She matched her accessories flawlessly, rocking matching green nails, a heart-shaped pearl-embellished bag and pointed heels.
Sineád Burke presented the award for Change Maker of the Year to actress Ruth Madeley, who she said "gives permission for the generations before and after her to see themselves in her acting career, and her activism in combating ableism in the media industry".
Burke was typically elegant in a custom silk dress by Prada, emblazoned with a rich blue print and delicate pleats, which she accessorised with black pumps and a nude headband.
Laura Whitmore went bold with her look too, continuing her fashion legacy of wearing excellent suits in a chic two-tone black and beige suit. She paired this with a grey knit top, which gave the look a casual but polished feel, and some dazzling accessories including a pale blue feathered handbag and a feathered necklace.
Finally, Aisling Bea stunned in a vampy look on the red carpet, wearing an outfit she proudly told her Instagram followers that she put together herself with sustainability in mind.
She wore a pair of leather trousers, paired with a classic black velvet blazer – both by Alice & Olivia and both second hand, sourced from The Real Real – which she paired with a classic white shirt by Victoria Beckham. Bea was keen to give a shout out to another luxury second hand site, Vestaire, where she says she sources her treasures.
She added some sparkle with pieces from Alighieri Jewellery, a London-based designer, as well as some pieces from the Monica Vinader recycled material range. As the presenter of the Special Recognition Award, this year presented to Clara Amfo, she simply wowed.
