Known as the British Oscars, the BAFTAs are always a star-studded event. Giving the US award shows a run for their money, the BAFTAs is one of the most glamorous events in the celebrity calendar.

This year marks the award's first full capacity in-person ceremony, after last year's virtual event where celebrities appeared over Zoom.

There were many familiar faces walking the red carpet, as a slew of Irish talent stormed the awards this year. Kenneth Branagh's Belfast brought its dazzling cast to the event, while Jess Buckley walked the red carpet as a nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Lost Daughter.

Jewel tones made a strong appearance in the red carpet looks of the night. Lady Gaga typically made a stunning entrance, wearing a figure-hugging custom Ralph Lauren gown made from shimmering green velvet and taffeta. She paired this with diamond and emerald jewellery by Tiffany & Co., and towering black PVC platform boots.

Gaga's House of Gucci cast mate Salma Hayek also looked stunning in a deep purple velvet and black lace gown with a racy thigh-high slit and sweetheart neckline.

Haley Bennett of Cyrano made an impression in a striking gown by Valentino, featuring images of figures embracing in varying shades of red, while Daniel Kaluuya brought some pizzazz to the red carpet with a Prada ensemble fringed with deep teal fur.

Black gowns were, as always, a reliable go-to, with everyone from our own Caitriona Balfe and Jessie Buckley, to Naomi Campbell and Millie Bobby Brown looking glam in black.
