Some would say, don't wear red on a red carpet, and those of us looking on longingly from our couches would be inclined to agree.
But for our own Caitríona Balfe, no such rules apply.
Nominated for the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, the Belfast actress stunned at the 2022 SAG Awards on Sunday night, managing to stand out on a red carpet in a vivd scarlet gown.

Styled as always by stylist to the upper echelons of Hollywood elite, Karla Welch, Balfe continued her knockout fashion streak which has seen her don everything from librarian-chic outfits to masculine suits and daring cut-out gowns.
For the glamorous ceremony, the Monaghan native wore a sophisticated red gown by Saint Laurent, featuring structured shoulders, a bold deep V-neckline, long sleeves and a front seam ending in a split. She added a simple pair of black strappy heels to complete the look.
She accessorised this elegant look with dramatic jewellery by Van Cleef & Arpels, including a pointed diamond collar necklace, a matching gold and diamond bracelet on each wrist and chunky knuckle-duster ring on her index finger.
Continuing the sleek and simple theme, Balfe's hair was styled to perfection by stylist Gareth Bromell, who said he took inspiration from the women in Robert Palmer's iconic music video for Addicted to Love, who dazzled viewers with their sleek buns, glossy vinyl red lipstick and smokey black eyeshadow.

He pulled her dark tresses into a low bun at the nape of her neck, slicking it back into a glossy chignon to create a strong and confident look.
Makeup artist Mary Wiles took the inspiration on board, creating a bold and modern version of the 80's power-woman look. Using all Charlotte Tilbury products, she created a soft red lip, glossy skin and polished brows.
