Dublin-born menswear designer Robyn Lynch held her first solo catwalk show at London Fashion Week where she presented a series of upcycled GAA jerseys which she sourced from her father's wardrobe.

Having studied Printed Textiles at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, Lynch went on to graduate from the Menswear MA at the University of Westminster in June 2018 before founding her brand in the same year.

The 29-year-old's pieces are proudly Irish with her upbringing and culture being used as the base of the brand's ethos and inspiration, paying tribute to her roots with the youthful style of silhouette and traditional Irish cable knits.

According to Vogue, Lynch produced her first two collections for Lulu Kennedy's Fashion East in 2019 from her family home in Malahide. Since then, her virtual collections during the COVID-19 pandemic have worked in collaboration with sportswear and have taken inspiration from her surroundings in Ireland.

This capsule collection, which was designed in collaboration with sportswear company Columbia, was especially personal as it featured retro GAA jerseys that belonged to her dad, Mick.

The stylish jerseys were made in collaboration with a Japanese company called Synflux who developed an algorithm that distorts the images given from the old Dublin jerseys. The unique pieces are made using an intarsia knitting technique in cotton yarns in Japan.

The AW22 collection, which is being shown as part of the brand's NEWGEN debut at London Fashion Week this June, marks her second partnership in the 'Robyn Lynch supported by…’ series which sees the designer focus on recycled materials.
