Kate Middleton not only dresses for the occasion, but also for company, often tweaking her looks to suit the people she's with.

When carrying out engagements on her own, she'll often wear her most on-trend pieces, from chic wide-legged trousers to retro pussy bow blouses and dazzling prints. When out with her husband Prince William, she'll often wear looks that are more tailored, or slightly more feminine.

However, when she's out with extended family members – especially her in-laws, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles – she'll pull out her most classic and traditionally royal looks.

On her most recent engagement with her in-laws, Kate did just that, stepping out in a beloved Catherine Walker dress she's worn on multiple occasions before.

The Duchess visited Trinity Buoy Wharf centre, where they dropped in on The Prince's Foundation training site to visit students working on traditional crafts like sculpture, dressmaking and more.

Kate in particular spent time with many of the textiles artists working in the centre, speaking to dressmakers and students.

Featuring a fitted bodice, princess seams, structured shoulders and a full, pleated skirt, the soft grey dress is a classically tailored piece, and more in line with traditional royal looks than Kate's trendier ones. It includes a matching self belt to cinch in the waist and a contrasting black collar and black buttons on the cuffs.

She paired this with a neat black leather bag by Mulberry, the Amberley Crossbody style, in crocodile print. She added opaque black tights and her Gianvito Rossi Piper 85 pumps, featuring a flattering block heel.

Her makeup was typically fresh and natural, while her hair was a style we haven't seen in a while. Though the Duchess usually wears her hair in a voluminous curly blow dry, for this occasion she styled it in an elaborate up-do.

With half her long tresses pulled up and back into a romantic twist, and the rest curled into glossy ringlets, it was a hairstyle worthy of a princess.
