Kate Middleton expertly mixed pieces from the high street with bargain finds on her first joint engagement with husband Prince William this year, showcasing her savvy sense of style once again.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked typically elegant on the outing to the Foundling Museum in London yesterday, opting for a smart casual outfit for the day of engagements.
The museum itself was established as a home for children whose mothers couldn't care for them, and Kate has been patron of the museum since 2019.
They spoke to workers about children in foster care and their experiences in the system, the use of arts in their care and the challenges that face those leaving foster care.
Posting on their Instagram account, the couple wrote: "We were able to understand first-hand the impact of spending time in care in the UK and it's links with employment, housing, mental health, addiction and the youth justice system, 'and some of the work that is being done to tackle these issues."
For the visit, Kate mixed classic staples with a pop of colour and some statement affordable accessories. She stepped out in a sleek teal single-breasted coat, featuring a stand-up collar, neat lapels and flap pockets.
To help the rich jewel-toned shade pop even more, the Duchess layered it over matching navy staples, wearing a classic turtleneck jumper with buttoned cuffs. She tucked this into a pair of elegant wide-legged navy trousers, the Sport Luxe Jersey Wide Trousers by Jigsaw, that have a modern sporty silhouette that perfectly contrasts the sophisticated coat.
She added her Josie pumps by Emmy London, a classic block heel court shoe in rich navy suede to complete the outfit.
She added some sparkle with the Mini Hammered Door Knocker Hoop Earrings by Accessorize, a striking pair of earrings featuring a hammered gold stud and elongated hoop, which only cost £7.
Her hair, a rich chocolate brown shade for winter, was styled into a voluminous blow dry with a chic centre parting and her long layers falling in waves over her shoulder. Her makeup was typically fresh and neutral, with a pink nude lipstick and subtle eyeliner.
