But it's been a while since we saw a truly glam look from the Monaghan native. The star gave us just that on her latest appearance, as she dropped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The Outlander star looked radiant in a multicoloured gown with daring cut-outs, paired with her usual sleek and modern accessories. While the gown itself isn't listed on the brand's website, it looks like a version of the Ruffle Knit Midi Dress in Wool, which costs €1,300, there styled with the model's leg poking through the cut-out.
She wore a stunning gown by Loewe covered in shimmering purple sequins, featuring green and yellow ruffles and a daring cut-out detail over one leg. The gown was a modern twist on the 70s slip dress, with delicate spaghetti straps and a slinky silhouette.
Always one to shake her style up, Balfe balanced this retro, ultra feminine vibe with edgy accessories, including a full length leather coat with wide lapels and a double-breasted front.
She kept the colour theme going with a pair of dazzling purple pointed-toed stilettos with gold detailing, to match the shades in her dress. She also added a delicate gold necklace and a chain earring on one ear.
She kept the rest of her look sleek and minimal, with hairstylist DJ Quintero pulling her hair back into a slick low style and parted neatly in the centre.
Her makeup, done by Mary Wiles, was fresh and natural, with her glowing complexion taking centre stage and a delicate nude lip adding some polish.
