There was no shortage of stars at the Fashion Awards, which took place in London last night, but few shone as bright as our own Sinéad Burke, who dazzled in a custom Gucci look.
The educator, activist and fashion icon took to the stage to present Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele with the Trailblazer Award. Burke has developed a hugely significant collaboration with Michele in recent years, and has attended events such as the Met Gala in Gucci ensembles.
So it's no wonder she was chosen to award the honour to Michele, who she called "a changemaker".
Posting a snippet of her speech on Instagram, Burke wrote:
"Being a changemaker is about stepping outside of yourself, and acknowledging the power you hold to make a difference. Whether that's Gucci Vault and supporting the next generation of talent. Or, creating a company-wide mission to create opportunities for Disabled people. Or, publicly critiquing the Italian government when legislation curbs the rights of Queer and Disabled people.
There are still too many people who feel excluded in fashion, who do not feel like they belong. A Trailblazer is someone who knows that this work is only just beginning."
Burke herself was a changemaker for the Fashion Awards, as she notes that her education and advocacy company Tilting the Lens worked with the British Fashion Council "to ensure the presence of British Sign Language interpreters for the first time at the Fashion Awards".

For the dazzling speech, Burke wore a custom made two-tone pink gown, featuring a V-neck, voluminous feather sleeves and a shimmering crystal-embellished belt cinching in the waist. She paired it with black shoes and sparkling drop earrings.
Taking inspiration from the stunning pinks of the dress, she wore a pink-hued beauty look, with a glossy pink lip, a feline flick of black eyeliner and glowy complexion. Her hair was styled into deep side part with a glossy wave set to the front and the rest of her hair slicked back.
