Kate Middleton made a regal entrance to the COP26, in a striking outfit that kept sustainability in mind.

The Duchess of Cambridge attended two glamorous events as part of the climate conference taking place in Glasgow, alongside her husband Prince William and in-laws, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

The first was of particular importance to the couple, as it was the Earthshot Prize reception which honoured the winners of Prince William's Earthshot initiative and was the first opportunity for the winners to meet together.

Held in the Clydeside Distillery in Glasgow, the couple mingled with honourees and guests and indulged in a wee dram here and there. At one point, Kate held up a container of larvae to Prince William, daring him to try the eco-friendly snack.

The second was the reception to mark the opening day of COP26, hosted by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Queen Elizabeth II was scheduled to make an appearance but missed the event under doctor's orders.

Her speech was broadcast at the event, in which she said "If we fail to cope with this challenge, all the other problems will pale into insignificance".

Prince William has been vocal in recent months about climate change, taking up the mantle from his father, and has been advocating for greater action to prevent further damage to the environment.

As for Kate, she once again showed her mastery of using clothing as a means to spread a message, as she wore an outfit that was made up of past-season items and firm wardrobe favourites.

She stepped out in a stunning royal blue coat dress by Eponine, from their SS2020 collection, which featured a midi-length, gathered shoulders, contrasting black buttons and a cinched in waist.

She accessorised with her Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps in navy suede, which she has worn on many occasions, as well as the Emmy London Natasha clutch bag in navy suede.

To add some sparkle, Kate wore her Kiki McDonough blue topaz and diamond earrings, a stunning pair of classic drop earrings, and her Codebreakers Poppy – a red poppy brooch that honours codebreakers, and which is close to Kate's heart as her grandmother and her twin sister both worked in signal intelligence during World War II.

Her hair was pulled back into an intricate yet sleek bun, while her makeup was kept fresh and glowy, with a nude lip and softly smoked out eyeshadow.
