The Irish flag was well and truly waved at the Pride of Britain Awards, as Vogue Williams, Maura Higgins and more dazzled on the red carpet, championing Irish talent.

Each year, the awards champion the everyday heroes across Britain for singular acts of courage, long-lasting battles against the odds, persistent campaigning, small acts of kindness, and much more.

It's a dazzling event with a red carpet to match and it's no wonder there were so many familiar faces: between charming presenters, stunning beauties and iconic musicians, we have our fair share of exemplary Irish stars excelling in the UK.

Hosted by Carol Vorderman again, this time alongside Diversity star Ashley Banjo, the event highlighted stories of bravery, resilience and optimism, such as that of quadruple amputee Harmonie-Rose Allen who wins the Child of Courage Award, and campaigner Rosemary Cox, who set up the first Organ Donor Register in the UK.

Almost as dazzling as the stories were the outfits, with many going hell-for-leather with glamorous ensembles. Love Island star Maura Higgins arguably led the pack in a jaw-dropping crystal embellished gown by Albina Dyla, featuring a dramatic train, daringly low-cut V-neck and matching crystal-encrusted gloves.

Going for showgirl excess, Maura wore her hair swept back into a sleek up-do with 1930s-inspired finger waves. As for makeup, she went bold with a radiant red lip, graphic feline eyeliner and plenty of bronzed tan to make her truly pop on the red carpet.

Laura Whitmore, meanwhile, stuck to her tried and true formula in an elegant green velvet suit, featuring a double-breasted jacket and cropped trousers. The suit was green in another sense, too, as the brand Thought uses sustainable and organic materials in their designs, and have spearheaded recycling initiatives.

Laura paired her 'Clarence' suit with a white shirt, oversized black bow, crystal-encrusted platform shoes and a chic fan-shaped clutch bag. She wore her hair slicked back into a contemporary ponytail wound with black thread and added a red lip for added drama.

Vogue Williams also went patriotic in her outfit, wearing a custom green satin cut-out gown by SML London which was classic Vogue: a high ruched neckline, flirty cut-outs on the waist, an open back and elegant silhouette.

She paired this with gold strappy heels from Warehouse and an intricate gold handbag by brand Aspinal of London. Her hair was worn short and lightly waved, while her makeup was fresh and sultry, with a nude lip and heavily smoked eyes.

Also dazzling on the night were The Script's Danny O'Donoghue, as well as Westlife, who all looked dapper in their expertly tailored suits.
