The Duchess of Cambridge is well known for rewearing items from her wardrobe, but her most recent look highlights just how much her style has developed in recent years.

Although rewearing clothes is hardly new territory for anyone, we love seeing how Kate reworks and adapts items she's had in her wardrobe for years, and especially as her personal style has changed so much in recent years.

Kate put a new twist on an old outfit this week as she took part in a trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens for an event tied into her husband Prince William's Generation Earthshot programme. They met with London Mayor Sadiq Khan and students from the Heathland School to discuss the importance of environmental action and advocacy for the younger generation.

The programme is centred around the inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards, five £1,000,000 awards to people/organizations with ideas that will substantially help the environment and which take place on Sunday. It draws inspiration from John F. Kennedy's Moonshot programme, which saw millions of people rally around an organising goal to put man on the moon.

Keeping the environmental theme in mind, Kate wore green for the engagement, choosing her Erdem Allie coat, which she first wore in 2014. Made from rich wool crepe with multiple visible seams, silver zip detail on the wrists and a neat Peter Pan collar, it's a sleek and modern design.

In 2014, and the following two times she wore it for events, she styled it zipped closed as a coat dress. However, for this week's engagement she styled it in a more fashion-forward way, pairing it with a simple green knitted jumper from Zara and wide-legged dark trousers.

Kate brought a nod to the natural world to her accessories, too as she wore her silver Pangolin Haka style earrings by Patrick Mavros, an eye-catching design. She finished her look with a pair of pointed-toed stiletto heels.

Her hair was styled into full and loose curls that fell over her shoulder, while her makeup was kept fresh and natural, with a nude lip and lashings of blush.
