We've been spoiled for choice when it comes to red carpets, and our favourite Irish stars have been dazzling onlookers with their stunning outfits.

We've drooled over Ruth Negga's many press trip ensembles, and swooned at Nicola Coughlan's romantic looks, but one of the most breathtaking has been Caitríona Balfe's recent appearance at the premiere of her new film in London.

The Irish beauty and former supermodel brought her runway experience to the red carpet in a stunning gold gown at the premiere of her new movie Belfast at the 65th BFI London Film Festival.

Styled by celebrity stylist Karla Welch, who also styles Negga, Balfe wore a stunning pleated gold gown by Stella McCartney, which was designed as a tribute to the late designer Alber Elbaz, the former creative director of Lanvin who passed away in April of this year.

The dress featured a high neckline, draped mid-length sleeves and statement shoulders that contrasted the flowing pleats and layers of fluid fabric, that fluttered around the star as she walked.

Balfe kept the rest of her look minimal to let the dress do the talking, and paired it with a simple pair of Jessica McCormack drop earrings and a geometric-inspired gold bracelet.

Her makeup, done by makeup artist Mary Wiles, was dark and dramatic, an ideal contrast to her rich and opulent dress. Wiles opted for a smokey eye in shades of green, gold and black to work with the dress, as well as a subtle hint of contouring, peachy blush and a nude lip, all complemented by a glossy and glowing complexion.

Finally, her hair was pulled back into a simple sleek bun, kept slightly tousled to contrast the structure and drama of the dress, which let her makeup and dress take centre stage.
