Arguably the biggest date on the fashion calendar, the Met Gala is an annual event that sees the world's most famous faces dare to display their most extravagant looks under the watchful eye of Vogue editor and event chair, Anna Wintour.
And from Billie Eilish's full tulle skirt to Megan Fox's 1940's inspired-hair, Old Hollywood glamour was the strongest trend at the Met Gala.
Billie Eilish made an entrance in a romantic peach-hued tulle gown by Oscar de la Renta. Featuring a dramatic full skirt, structured bodice and wrap around off-the-shoulder tulle sleeves, Eilish looked worlds away from her usual goth punk style.
If that wasn't enough of an homage to the screen stars of the past, Eilish's hair and makeup seemed to reference bombshells like Marilyn Monroe, with her platinum blonde hair curled into full waves, while her makeup was dark and dramatic, with a bold red lip and graphic black eyeliner.
Billie wasn't the only one to reference a screen legend, as Emily Blunt gave a nod to one of the most pioneering actresses of the Old Hollywood era.
The Quiet Place star stepped out in a stunning crystal-embellished gown by Miu Miu, featuring a white cape detail on the back and dangling gems. Blunt added a starry headpiece, referencing that of actress Hedy Lamarr, who created the technology that would go on to make WiFi possible.
Always one for a vampy look, Megan Fox seemed to draw inspiration from 1940s pin-up icon Bettie Page, in her dazzling red outfit. Wearing a lace-up gown by Dundas, Fox styled her hair into a slick bun with a short block fringe, adding a vibrant red lip, dramatic cateye liner, a sultry smokey eye and dramatic earrings.
Megan Thee Stallion went for 80s glamour, wearing a stunning frothy cocktail dress by Coach featuring a cascade of cream tulle over a thigh-high slit. Her beauty look was classic Old Hollywood glamour, with 1940s waves falling over one eye and a deeply contoured eyeshadow look adding even more drama.
The stars pulled inspiration from all manner of screen glamour, as a number of stars seemed to channel traditional showgirls. Supermodel Iman turned heads in a gold brocade and feather circle gown, with a striking straw headpiece.
Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner channelled burlesque in a sheer custom Givenchy outfit that dripped with crystals.
