The Grey's Anatomy star is officially having the best staycation out of all of us, as he romps his way around the country while filming Disenchanted, the Enchanted sequel by Disney.

While locals have been awed by the slow conversion of Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow into a fairytale set, we've been watching in awe as Dempsey shows us how to make the most of the Irish countryside on his Instagram.

Having arrived in the country only three weeks ago, Dempsey wasted no time in snapping some photos among the fields, donkeys and sheep, hair artfully dishevelled and pageboy hat always in tow. The star has become the de facto face of tourism for Ireland, as his Instagram snaps are sending followers – home and abroad – into hysterics.

But it wasn't long until the Hollywood star was adapting to the local fashions either, as he made the most of inter-county travel restrictions lifting and took some day trips to Dublin.

Last weekend he paid a visit to one of the most coveted Irish designers, Louis Copeland, sharing a snap to his Instagram with the caption, "Great morning at Louis Copeland & sons!"

Shortly after that, he established himself as Hollywood's Most Desirable Man in an Aran Jumper – knocking Chris Evans from that pedestal after his appearance in 2019's Knives Out – sharing a photo of himself in an authentic Aran Jumper by Inis Meáin, the leading producer of traditional Irish fisherman's jumpers.

In the snap, featuring a truly content looking Dempsey, the star wrote, "I love being in Ireland and I'm having so much fun working on this film". And we really believe him. He chose the Cashmere Shawl Collar, which features an Aran cable crossover neck knit in a flecked cashmere and marino wool blend, and costs €528.

By the time yesterday's update came – a photo of classic Irish chipper Leo Burdock's with the caption, "Bleeding deadly!!" – it was clear Dempsey had adopted the local jargon, too.

We can't wait to see McDreamy's staycation guide once his romp around Ireland comes to a close!
