The 74th EE British Academy Film Awards, also known as the BAFTAS, are taking place across this weekend, with the ceremony broadcast across the UK and Ireland at 7pm tonight.
Although winners will be accepting their gongs virtually from home, an opulent ceremony – complete with red carpet – will be taking place in Royal Albert Hall where a host of stars will present the winning awards.
Irish actress Niamh Algar, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Calm With Horses, is attending the event virtually from Cape Town wearing a fiery gown from Maison Valentino.
The eye-catching piece is from the brand's Spring/Summer 2021 ready-to-wear line, first appearing at Milan Fashion Week when modelled by Penelope Ternes. Designer Pierpaolo Piccioli described the collection to Vogue as being both radical and romantic.
The show-stopping dress stands out thanks to its bold colour, sheer fabric and full length ruffles which Algar balanced out with a simple up-do and minimalist make-up.
The actress is just one of the Irish nominees hoping to win a prize at this year's ceremony, with her Calm With Horses co-star Barry Keoghan up for Best Supporting Actor, and Cartoon Saloon's Wolfwalkers up for Best Animated Feature Film.
Styled by Harry Lambert and photographed by Zoe McConnell for GQ, Dubliner Barry Keoghan was looking every bit the Hollywood star while virtually attending the awards.
The 28-year-old first gained fame in gangland drama Love/Hate before catapulting into stardom with outstanding roles in '71, Dunkirk, Trespass Against Us and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
Dressed in a teal Gucci suit with pinstripe shirt and pink knit jumper, as well as a statement ring from Bulgari, the young actor looked exceptionally dashing while posing around his hotel.
The BAFTAs will air on BBC One at 7.00pm on Sunday evening.
