Last night, the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards was held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and was broadcast live on The CW television network.
The in-person/virtual hybrid ceremony was hosted for the third time by acclaimed film, television, and stage star Taye Diggs.
Critics Choice Awards are bestowed annually to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement, and are often a good predictor of who will be nominated for the Academy Awards.
Irish man Paul Mescal was nominated for 'Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie' for his role in Lenny Abrahamson's adaptation of Normal People, but lost out to John Boyega's performance in Small Axe.
To mark the occasion, the young actor dressed to the nines in a black suit and tie from Prada and an eye-catching watch from Cartier.
Photographed by American photographer Sami Drasin, the Maynooth man was looking as dapper as ever.
Mescal's co-star Daisy Edgar Jones was also virtually in attendance as she was nominated for 'Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie' for her role in Normal People. However, she lost out to Anya Taylor-Joy for her role in Netflix hit, The Queen's Gambit.
Jones looked exceptionally glam on the night wearing a scarlet, balloon-sleeved, mini dress from Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2021 collection.
Styled by Nicky Yates, she accessorised the look with star earrings from Chanel, Jimmy Choo shoes, simple hair, and a beautiful cat-eye applied by make-up artist Gina Kane.
Normal People was nominated for 'Best Limited Series' along side I May Destroy You, Mrs. America, Normal People, The Plot Against America, Small Axe, The Undoing, The Queen's Gambit, and Unorthodox, with The Queen's Gambit taking home the award.
