It's been a long time since we saw her dazzle on a red carpet or at a state banquet, but in her most recent appearance Kate Middleton added some welcome sparkle to her working-from-home outfit.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been fulfilling her engagements over Zoom, adapting her schedule to the ongoing pandemic and in the process has given us plenty of WFH inspiration.

From luxe knitted designer jumpers and delicate blouses, to a full head-to-toe tartan look, Kate has made WFH fashion her own.

On a recent video call to teachers from Ribbon Academy in County Durham, Kate amped up the glamour once again, nailing business casual with a little shimmer. She was speaking to teachers about the effects of the pandemic on children and their mental health, as a way of marking Children's Mental Health Day.

"You play such a vital role in looking after our children. It's so important that you’re looked after too and have the appropriate networks and support systems to make sure you can really do the best job you possible can", she said.

Kate wore a dazzling tweed blazer by Rebecca Taylor, in a rich royal blue shade and woven throughout with silver thread. Featuring a high buttoned up neckline, pointed collar, frayed edges and shimmering sequin embellishments, the Sparkle Tweed Ruffle Jacket was smart but also bold, and a gorgeous nod to more colourful outfits.

We loved the rich texture of the piece, and the shade that would pair perfectly with jeans and a white t-shirt for a more dressed down look. She first wore it in 2017 while opening a Ronald McDonald House, when she paired it with a matching tweed a-line dress.

The Duchess paired that with a delicate pair of earrings, the Rhodochrosite Gold Mini Pyramid Charm Hoops by Missoma, and wore her long hair pulled back into a high, slick ponytail. She finished her look with her classic fresh and rosy makeup, with a swirl of blush and subtle eye makeup.

We also couldn't help but notice that – like many of us – Kate has gone hard on the houseplants, with two lush plants adding even more colour and life to her background.
