Maura Higgins responded to accusations that she had edited her Instagram photos, asking her followers that they be kinder towards her and others on social media.
There's no denying that the former Love Island star is an expert at hitting her angles and turning looks, and her Instagram feed is one continuous feed of glamorous outfits, racy lingerie snaps, and sleek makeup inspo.
However, the star hit back against accusations of editing her photos by asking followers to "be kind" on social media.
Sharing a photo of herself in a red lingerie look in the lead up to Valentine's Day, Maura also took the time to address the "trolls" in her DMs accusing her of tweaking her photos.
She shared three photos, the first with the lighting slightly enhanced, the second left as it was taken and the last an outtake "where lighting, angles, etc are all wrong" the Longford beauty says.

"My DMs are just flooded with trolls atm claiming I over use the smooth tool & enhance my eyeballs! Should I really apologise for having good skin... really?"
We've always been dazzled by Maura's eye makeup looks that never fail to accentuate her feline almond-shaped eyes and leave them looking luminous, but as the makeup fanatic shared in her post it's all about subtle makeup tricks.
Adding a white liner into the inner waterline, as she does in the photos she shared, is her way of making eyes pop she wrote, as well as good lighting. Aside from that, she wrote "I like to just up the brightness and detail my outfit!"
Maura has become known for her no-nonsense approach to social media and what others may think of her, and it's one of the reasons she's become so beloved by her fans. However, even she has a line when it comes to what she called "abuse" from trolls.
"The pressures of social media can really affect people", she wrote, "so maybe think twice about jumping into somebody’s DMs with abuse about their image. You really don’t know what is going on in a person’s life so please just BE KIND, it costs nothing!"
