The Style Counsellors return to RTÉ One tonight to help six deserving women find their fashion mojo – whether it's the Cork nurse working on the Covid frontline or the busy Mayo farmer trying to rediscover her sense of style or the selfless single mum who wants to get back in touch with her inner glam queen.
Hosted by none other than Suzanne Jackson of So Sue Me and Eileen Smith of beloved Instagram account @eileenstylequeen, this show aims to deliver a little help, a little encouragement and, hopefully, a lot of empowerment.
Due to COVID-19, this series will look a little different than last year as 81-year-old Eileen had to batten down the hatches. Of course, that hasn't stopped her staying front and centre in the show, offering her unique take on fashion Dos and Don’ts from her own sitting room.
Meanwhile, Suzanne will hit the road to meet six very different women - and their wardrobes - so she can tease out their style challenges and sets about offering solutions, creating her very own Pop-Up Shop where her charges can peruse safely and try on different looks.
While glam nights out may have been in short supply this year each woman has one big occasion on the horizon and Suzanne's end goal is to find that special gúna for them.
To kick things off, tonight's episode will introduce us to Tracey Ginty, a 38 year old mam to two young boys. Tracey is a Critical Care Nurse in Cork.
"When we had our first confirmed case it was absolutely terrifying. It was like going to war. But we knew it was very much a call to duty, you know, we had to do it, this is what we do, there was no shying away from it."
Tracey has been a nurse for 20 years and is married to Niall, who is also a Nurse, often working opposite shifts which is hard on family life. 2020 has been a tough year for Tracy, not just because of Covid. She also lost her Dad.
Tracey is low on body and clothes confidence but if anyone deserves a lift it's this woman. Cue Suzanne and Eileen. Suzanne wants to give Tracey some of her old self-assurance and fire back, bringing some colour into her life … literally.
Like so many busy couples, finding time for date nights, particularly in this challenging year, has proved difficult, but that’s what Tracey wants more than anything.
"I would just love to get all dressed up for a date night, knock the socks off him, make him remember why he married me in the first place!"
The Style Counsellors airs on RTÉ ONE, 20:30, Tuesday 5 January.
